Used motor oil may be brought to the District or placed in plastic containers tightly sealed and visibly marked USED MOTOR OIL and placed next to recycling container.
The following can now be BUNDLED & TIED and placed alongside garbage cans:
Magazines, catalogs, cardboard food boxes, instruction manuals, office and school paper, white telephone books, computer paper, discarded mail, receipts, paper grocery and paper lunch bags.
*No hardcover or paperback books, no metallic paper, no paper plates, cups or paper towels, no egg cartons and no Styrofoam.
The Town of Hempstead ordinance prohibits placing recycling receptacles on the curb prior to 7:00 P.M. on the day preceding scheduled pick up and must be removed three hours after pick up.
